Next, at the shading correction circuit 7, the unevenness of the digital picture data due to the unevenness in the light quantity of an original illumination lamp 2 is corrected. By enhancing the edge before a shading correction, the unevenness in the digital picture data due to the unevenness in the light quantity in the original illumination lamp 2 is shading-corrected, and the edge, such as a thin line, a thin pattern, or the outline of an image, etc. is enhanced.
