<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability during setting a reflection type photoelectric sensor using a retroreflector, and extend its detection distance. SOLUTION: A body of a sensor 22 contains a photo-transmitter 24 and a photo-receiver 25, and a retroreflector 23 is placed away from the body of the sensor 22. The photo-receiver 25 consists of an array sensor 30 composed of plural light receiving elements, light receiving lens 31 and others. During setting of the sensor, the body of the sensor 22 is placed so that it could receive reflection from the retroreflector 23 using all light receiving elements of the array sensor 30. During detecting operation, the existence of objects is determined by using only light receiving elements which receives reflection-spotlights from the retroreflector.</p> |
