PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate the kind of a document without any human intervention irrelevantly to whether a document has a fixed or unfixed type by providing a document discrimination part which compares image data of a document read by a document read part with image data of a template document to discriminate the document, etc. SOLUTION: When an operator 100 indicates 'start of registration' or when a document read by the document read part 1 is an unregistered kind of document, a document registration part 2a of a control part 2 registers one document template in a template document storage part 3. The document discrimination part 2b compares the image of the document read by the document read part 1 with an image of the template document which is already registered in the template document storage part 3 to discriminates whether or not the document is the same as the template document. A document classification part 2c stores the image of the document discriminated by the document discrimination part 2b in a classified state in a classified document storage part 4.
