PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a player to hit the sweet spot of a patter face easily in a patter by making the area of a flat patter face specified times as much as the cross section in the center surface of a golf ball. SOLUTION: A golf club 31 has a small area of a patter face 33a to facilitate the determination of the position of the sweet spot 40 of the patter face 33a. In addition, when a golf ball 34 is positioned within a vertical range, the ball 34 can be hit easily at the sweet spot 40 in the vertical direction. Since the patter face 33a has an area about 1.2 times as much as that of the cross section of the golf ball 34, a sufficient impact force can be obtained when the ball 34 is hit. Viewed from the impact and directivity the area of the patter face 33a is about 0.5-2.0 times as much as that of the cross section of the golf ball 34.
