摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a positive electrode active material for non-aqueous electrolyte battery which is practically mass-producible and excels in the high- temp. shelf life. SOLUTION: A mixture powder is prepared from lithium compound and cobalt compound so that the mol ratio of Li/Co lies within the range 0.95-1.0, and a water solution of vinyl alcohol resin in an amount of 20-30 parts by weight is added to 100 parts by wt. mixture powder as prepared so that granulated substance is produced, which is left to a baking process in an oxygen- containing atmosphere at 850-1000 deg.C for a time between 6 and 20 hours so that synthesizing takes place. Thus the intended positive electrode active material consisting of lithium-cobalt composite oxide is achieved.
