Spatial arrangement for motor bus or coach - has elevated driver position, and space for invalid chair

A vehicle, e.g. a motor bus for passengers and/or goods transport, provides space for transport of an invalid chair and its occupant. Space is created by elevating the drivers seat, thus utilising the floor space for the invalid chair. The vehicle (1) includes space (2) for passengers or load. Extra space (3) is created by elevating the drivers seat (4). The driver's steering wheel and controls (6) are moved to the elevated position. A lifting/lowering mechanism is used when the bus is stationary, to bring floor (5) level with pavement kerb (10) enabling easy entry/exit for invalid chair (9).
