A process for the production of modified polyester moulding materials (I) comprises reacting a thermoplastic polyester (II) in the melt with monofunctional aliphatic or aromatic isocyanate(s) (III), and then forming and optionally stretching the product (I). Also claimed are stretched and unstretched (I) obtained by this process.
