In the television provided with a detector (12) detecting a communication signal received to a telephone (10) connected thereto and a warning device (18) warning a reception sate of the communication signal and thus, having a function of warning the reception of the communication signal, the device for warning the reception of the communication signal includes: a timer (14) timing an arrival time of the communication signal detected by the detector (12); a comparator (16) comparing the timing result provided in the timer with a given reference value to control a driving state of the warning device (18) based upon the comparing result so that a reception state of the communication signal may be warned in an order of time; and ineffective communication signal detectors (20, 22, 24 and 26) initializing the timer (14), if the ineffective communication signal is detected by judging whether the communication signal received in the telephone (10) is effective, wherein the warning device (18) includes an OSD device (18a) outputting OSD character based upon the comparing result output from the comparator (16) to firstly warn the reception state of the communication state, and a voice processing unit (19b) muting a voice signal based upon the comparing result output from the comparator (16) to secondly warn the reception state of the corresponding communication signal, and controlling the voice signal in the maximum sound volume to thirdly warn the reception state of the corresponding communication signal.
