SCENT INCREASING METHOD FOR CUT FLOWERS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously increase the scent of cut flowers and further to improve the preservability of cut flowers by absorbing a specified water soluble perfume or the like from the vessels of cut flowers and exhaling the perfume from the cut flowers. SOLUTION: The water soluble perfume or water dispersible perfume composed of perfumes such asα-ionone,α-damaskone and damacenone having threshold value less then 0.1ppm is absorbed from the vessels of cut flowers such as roses or tulips and the perfume is exhaled from the cut flowers so that the scent of cut flowers can be increased. In this case, it is preferable the concentration of the water soluble perfume or water dispersible perfume is settled within the range from 0.05% to 5% when the quantity of water in a vase to arrange the cut flowers is 100%.
