PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication system which can perform a hand-off operation fast without deteriorating the quality by predicting and selecting an optimum base station according to the position information on a mobile station and base station information in a base state data base and starting a hand-off request. SOLUTION: A transmission part 11 and a reception part 12 send and receive data to and from the base station under the control of a transmission/reception control part 13. A local station position detection part 18 detects the current position of the mobile station 1a with a signal received by a GPS antenna 10. A base station data base 14 stores base station information on service setting areas of respective base stations. A map data part 17 stores map data used to detect the position of its station and decide the service areas of the respective base stations. In a memory 16, the position of this station is recorded. A base station selection part 15 selects an optimum base station according to the position of this station and the base station service area. Further, a local station position information reception part 19 receives local station position information from the outside. |
