<p>A high resolution color camera resulting from the combination of a high resolution monochrome camera output with a less high resolution lower cost color camera output by exposing the two cameras to the same scene and modulating the intensities of the outputs from the monochrome camera pixels with the color component outputs from the color camera pixels over approximately the same pixel areas. The combiner compares the output from the color camera with the output from the monochrome camera and adjusts at least one of the cameras to assure that the scenes viewed by both cameras are substantially the same.</p> |
