摘要 A brake force control system for a tram with four-circuit brakes has the brake force at each wheel individually adjustable. The chassis is equipped with adjusters (16) for this force variation. The brake system is designed so that by using one front brake (11,12) and the diagonally opposite rear brake (13,14), the brake force in total corresponds to the vehicle weight multiplied by the maximum amount of the adhesion/traction coefficient exploitable between the track and the wheels. The adjusters are designed for the normal force distribution. The vehicle weight is supported on one of the front wheels and the diagonally opposite rear wheel, apart from a very small fraction of the same amounting to a few percentage of the wheel loads, approximately symmetrically distributed in the static case.
