摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an excellent matching properties with a thermal head and prevent an image density from lowering by a method wherein a protective layer containing spherical microcapsules is provided. SOLUTION: By providing a protective layer containing spherical microcapsules, a heat-sensitive recording material excellent in a head matching properties is obtained. Especially, as a preferable spherical microcapsule, a wall agent is made of a polyurethane and/or polyurea and a core agent is made of a high boiling point solvent having a particle diameter of 2m or less. The polyurethane and/or polyurea has high heat resistance and high lubricity and, in addition, elasticity. Further, by utilizing the high boiling point solvent in the core agent, the smooth contact between the head and a recording material is realized. The preferable capsulization is realized by forming a wall made of polymeric substance round an oil drop, which is produced by emulsifying an inactive organic high boiling point solvent in a water. Furthermore, the preferable contents of the capsules in the protective layer is 10-80%.
