PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a therapeutic composition effective for suppressing tumor growth and other diseases accompanying vascularization, containing a specific polypeptide capable of suppressing the activity of vascularization-inducing angiogenin. SOLUTION: This therapeutic agent contains a polypeptide having amino acid sequences of formula I, II and III, respectively, a segment of human placenta ribonuclease suppressive substance. It is recommended that the polypeptide is obtained by the following process: a mammal library is screened with a DNA probe coding the above-mentioned polypeptide, the resultant cDNA is then integrated into an expression vector followed by expression by the host cells transformed by the resultant vector. It is preferable that the polypeptide is subjected to intravenous injection or intraperitoneal injection together with a pharmacologically suitable medium, its does being pref. 10-10,000μg/kg body weight. |
