Microparticles, which are smooth and spherical, and at least 90 % of which have a volume median particle size of 1 to 10 mu m, comprise a substantially uniform mixture of an agent for gene therapy and an excipient. For example, a naked or encapsulated gene can thus be administered, using a dry powder inhaler.
