This invention concerns a communication system consisting of at least two PBXs with switching nodes. In one of the PBXs a team function control for carrying out a team function between team terminals is provided. Terminals phones belonging to this team are connected to the second PBX as remote subscribers and integrated into the team function via a hot line between the first PBX and the second PBX. For incoming calls, the team function control effects automatic call forwarding to team substitute suscriber terminals, if the team function recognizes that the hot line connection to the second PBX is defective.
