The recording medium includes a heat-sensitive layer provided by a carrier and a resin matrix in which a low molecular organic material is dispersed. A transparency characteristic of the layer is altered in dependence on the temperature. A fluorescent body which emits light in the visible spectral range upon stimulation is incorporated in a part of the carrier body of the heat-sensitive recording layer. The recorded information is visually represented against a coloured background.
