Nuclear resonance signals are generated in an object area and are phase coded by magnetic field gradients according to their speed. The measured nuclear resonance signals are evaluated in real time and the speed dependent phase of the nuclear resonant signals are transformed into graphic information in real time. The parameters of the measurement process are set inactively during the measurement process. The speed-dependent phases may be translated into colour coding and placed with a time axis in a speed histogram. In the graphic representation, the position of each pixel is determined by time assignment and phase of the measured signal. The brightness of each image pixel is determined by the amplitude of the assigned signal. In the histogram, the speed dependent phase of a region of interest, which is smaller than the measured object area, can be assessed.
