PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain the subject compound useful in the field of medicine, glucide engineering, cell technology, etc., by reacting a sphingolipid with a (labeled) aliphatic carboxylic acid in the presence of an enzyme capable of specifically hydrolyzing an acid amide bond. SOLUTION: A sphingolipid or lysosphingolipid is reacted with a (labeled) aliphatic carboxylic acid in the presence of an enzyme (e.g. sphingolipid ceramide deacylase) which is capable of specifically hydrolyzing an acid amide bond between a sphingoid of sphingolipid and a fatty acid and is produced by a bacterium of the genus Pseudomonas. Otherwise, the sphingolipid or lysosphingolipid and the (labeled) aliphatic carboxylic acid are brought into contact with a bacterium capable of producing an enzyme for hydrolyzing the acid amide bond between a sphingoid of sphingolipid and a fatty acid and enzymatically reacted so that a sphingolipid a sphingolipid derivative different in fatty acid chain or to efficiently and inexpensively give an arbitrary sphingolipid or sphingolipid derivative useful in the field of medicine, glucide engineering, cell technology, etc. |
