PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a protective film having rust preventive performance without preprocessing such as removal of the oil content and removal of rust by applying special paint to a metallic enclosing part of a vacuum vessel. SOLUTION: In a vacuum valve, a fixed electrode 5 and a movable electrode 6 are oppositely arranged in a vacuum vessel 4 having a metallic enclosing part so as to freely contact with and separate from each other. The metallic enclosing part is composed of a fixed side metallic end plate 2 and a movable side metallic end plate 3, and the following processing is performed. A protective film is formed on outside surfaces of the fixed side and movable side metallic end plates 2 and 3 by applying it by 1μm or more by using paint using stearic acid type fatty acid metallic soap as a thickening agent by using positive paraffin whose main raw material is wool oil as base oil without preprocessing. The fact that water is repelled is confirmed. It is desirable that the film is applied by 20μm or more to permanently have rust prevention in a corrosive environment.
