Wedge angle optical measurement system - uses valve seating faces as mirrors with light projected onto screen

A measuring instrument is used to determine and display small angles especially in the production of tightly fitting valves for the petrochemical industry. The geometric differences between an emergent sharply beamed light signal and the incident beam are used to represent precisely the inclinations of the two faces to each other and to the central line of the body. The faces of the body are used as reflecting surfaces. The accuracy of measurement may be increased by increasing the distance between the reflecting faces and the plane to which the images are projected.
