摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make possible suppressing disturbance in gradation even for an animation and a high luminance image by dispersing plural sub-fields to operational sub-fields in preceding/succeeding both fields of adjacent fields. SOLUTION: A signal to be displayed is coded at 8 bits, and the highest order sub-field b7 is equal divided to the sub-fields b71, b72. The light emission time areas of these sub-fields b71, b72 are allocated to first and final positions of one field, and light emission orders of respective subfields are made b71, b0,'vb6, b72 (may be made b71, b5,...b0, b72). In such a case, the first sub-field becomes b0 in the field, and the final subfield becomes b6 in the next field by viewing the sub-fields b0,... b6 excepting b71, b72. An interval between the light emission start points of time of these two sub-fields becomes 20.8msec to become nearly equal to a critical fusion period, and the picture quality improving effect of the animation is obtained.
