PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the knocking detection device of an internal combustion engine which is prevented to detect that it is the generation of a knocking by an error, even in the case of the generation of a spike noise. SOLUTION: An ion current signal detected in an ion current detection division 17 is separated into a knocking frequency component passing a band pass filter 32 and the frequency component other than the knocking frequency component passing a low pass filter 321 and a high pass filter 322. When the knocking frequency component is more than a prescribed level, it is judged that the knocking is generated, but when the frequency component other than the knocking frequency component is more than the prescribed level, it is judged that a spike noise is generated and it is prevented that such erroneous judge that the knocking is generated based on the spike noise is generated.
