FIELD: biochemical investigations. SUBSTANCE: when biochemically studying biological systems to reveal interrelation between molecular structure and molecular activity, amino acid or nucleotide sequences on substrate are obtained by affecting the first region of substrate (selected from the group including polymerized Langmuir-Blodgett film, glass with functional groups, germanium, silicon, polytetrafluoroethylene, polystyrene, arsenide, gallium, and their combinations) with activator to remove protection groups and affecting the first region with first amino acid or nucleotide monomer. Provided is also method of screening large number of amino acid sequences for their binding with receptor. Biological activity screening substrate contains at least 1000 different peptide and nucleotide ligands in predetermined regions.
