PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic ticket examination system capable of suppressing the reset (reset of an abnormal state) of an automatic ticket examination device due to the passage of an illegal passenger and enabling an operator in charge standing near the device to reset the device. SOLUTION: This system consists of the automatic ticket examination device 100 for reading out ticket examination information from a passenger ticket charged by a passenger and automatically executing ticket examination work and a monitoring device for monitoring and setting up the state or the like of the device 100. The monitoring device is provided with a reset validity/ invalidity setting switch for setting up a reset switch 16 arranged on the device 100 to reset the abnormal state of the device 100 to a 1st mode for validating the function of the switch 16 or a 2nd mode for invalidating the function. The device 100 is provided with a reset validating switch 17 for forcedly switching the switch 16 to the 1st mode when the switch 16 is set up to the 2nd mode.
