Upstream of the venturi or diffusor (11) or similar are flow conduit devices (20) which impart an upwardly directed flow component to the water which the venturi or diffusor or similar has allowed to pass. The flow conduit devices are formed as a flow chamber with an inflow aperture (21) connecting to the venturi (11) and an outflow aperture (22), of which the position is higher than that of the inflow aperture (21). The outflow aperture is defined by an upper edge (27) of the walls (24,25,26) of the flow chamber (20). The outflow aperture is near the water surface (8) and preferably is located at a short distance under the water surface. The rear wall (24) and/or a front wall (25) of the flow chamber is at least partly slanting and/or bent.
