<p>Provided on a transparent substrate is an information layer which contains at least Te atoms, O atoms and M atoms (wherein M represents at least one of metal elements, semi-metal elements and semiconductor elements, most preferably, Pb). The content of O atoms is 40-60 atomic %, the content of M atoms is 2-25 atm. % and the content of Te atoms is 15-58 atm. % in the information layer. Thus an optical information recording medium which exhibits a high C/N ratio for the reproduction/recording of information which has a small ratio (b/d) of the recording bit length (b) to the spot diameter (d) and has excellent recording characteristics with little jitter over a wide power margin is provided.</p> |
