PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the image forming element for producing the printing plate improved by the silver salt diffusion transfer process. SOLUTION: This image forming element is formed by laminating (i) an image receiving layer containing physical development nuclei, (ii) a photosensitive layer containing a silver halide emulsion in water permeability relationship to the layer, (iii) a stress resisting layer containing an unhardened gelatin in water permeability relation to the layer in this order on a roughened anodized surface of an aluminum support containing a matting agent having a weight average diameter greater than the average roughening depth RZ in an amount of at least 30mg/m<2> . |
