<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent exhaust gas from changing into white smoke in a device in which water is supplied to exhaust gas so as to cool the exhaust gas and separate harmful matter from it by providing a heat exchanging means exchanging heat between non-purified exhaust gas before entering in a purifying means and purified exhaust gas after being purified by the purifying means. SOLUTION: Non-purified exhaust gas from an engine enters a heat exchanging means 19 through an exhaust gas pipe 1. This heat exchanging means 19 is provided with purified exhaust gas pipes 48, 49 penetrating through non- purified exhaust gas chambers 44, 46, and heat of the exhaust gas is exchanged for purified exhaust gas passing in the respective pipes 48, 49 so as to cool the exhaust gas. A purifying device is provided with a water supply nozzle 35 spraying water into the purifying chamber, exhaust gas is rapidly cooled by heat of vaporization when the water is evaporated by heat of the exhaust gas, and hence minute harmful matter in the exhaust gas is pulverized. Thereafter this harmful matter is caught by respective filters 32, 33 while moving in downward passages 28, 30, and the purified exhaust gas is sent to the heat exchanging means 19.</p> |
