FIELD: removal of hair from user's skin surface. SUBSTANCE: shaving device has casing, within which blade block with wedge-shaped cutting edge and safety and rear members are positioned. Casing is attached to handle. Rear member is cooperating with user's skin. During shaving, safety member and blade block move independently against action of spring retainers while orientation of inner faces of blade members of block is unaltered. Wedge-shaped cutting edge of blade block is defined by inner and outer main faces with angle between faces within the range of 10-17 deg in zone spaced from cutting edge by distance of 40 mm. Tangent angle of block blade member and angle, at which main inner face of blade member is disposed relative to datum line extending from its cutting edge to point of contact with user's skin in front of block cutting edge, are less than 20 deg and exceed 150 deg, respectively. Layer of straightening material applied to wedge-shaped edge of substrate has thickness of at least 1,200 Angstrom and hardness exceeding that of substrate material by at least two times.
