<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relieve a virtual path at high speed from a failure occurred in an ATM(asynchronous transfer mode) network. SOLUTION: When a virtual path monitor part 104 detects the failure of the virtual path and the number of the virtual paths where the failures occur is less than a threshold which is previously set by means of the judgment of the link failure judgment part 140, a message communication part 106 informs the switch end of a down stream of the failure of the virtual path for the respective virtual paths. When the number of the virtual paths where the failures occur is more than the threshold which is previously set, the message communication part 106 informs an adjacent ATM virtual path switch node of the link failure. Since a present virtual path information management part 108 specifies the present virtual path stored in the link where the failure occurs. Thus, a switch control part 105 changes over the path to a standby virtual path.</p> |
