PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform accuracy measurement of a long work piece in a production line. SOLUTION: Position and attitude of a transferred work piece is calculated in premeasurement process. Attitude of the work piece is determined (S120) by calculating the inclinationα,β,γof a work piece reference line with respect to each coordinate axis. Position of the work piece is determined (S122, S128) by calculating the coordinates of the origin of work piece. Finally, the coordinate of machining measurement point is calculated (S130) based on the position and attitude of work piece thus determined and accuracy is measured (S132) at that point.
