A multi-fibre connector for connecting an optical cable and a transmitter consists of an adapter (10) with orifices (12) into which a male component is inserted, a through passage and holes (11) in its upper and lower walls for an engaging element (23). The male component (20) has a through channel for the optical fibres and an end tip with a series of small holes for the optical fibre cores, providing protection and alignment. The connector incorporates protectors (30) for the optical cable, designed to surround its outer ends and protect it from breaking, while an inner sleeve (40) of triangular cross-section ensures alignment of the tip (25), which is made from a composition material of epoxy resin and carbon fibres. The carbon fibres are 0.7-0.9 mm long and comprise 25-35% of its weight.
