<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of preventing formation of conductive foreign matters such as a surface-treated film (including whiskers) and burrs, and of preventing short circuit failure of the fuel cell without removing the burrs formed at the peripheral part of a separator for the fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell has a membrane-electrode assembly, a pair of frames pinching the membrane-electrode assembly, and the pair of separators for the fuel cell arranged on both outsides of the membrane-electrode assembly pinched by the frames. The outer peripheral part of the frames has a recessed level difference against the outer peripheral part of the separator for the fuel cell, the recessed level difference has a role to prevent contact with the frames of the burrs extendingly existing from the outer peripheral part of the separator for the fuel cell to the frame side, and the conductive surface-treated film formed in the separator for the fuel cell is not formed in the burrs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
