A contact wire measuring device for determining the remaining height of a contact wire (1) comprises two cameras (21, 22) placed underneath a contact strip (14) of a current collector of a railway vehicle. The cameras collect (21, 22) the light emitted from the luminous sources (23, 24, 25, 26) and reflected in the cameras (21, 22). An evaluation device (27) evaluates the images recorded by cameras (21, 22) and determines the remaining height of the contact wire (1). The contact wire measuring device is characterized by the fact that geometric measurements of the contact wire (1) can be determined in a reliable manner independent of its cross-section profile. |
