The seal sleeve is designed to fit between the ends of two joined pipes and an outer coupling ring. The seal sleeve is made from an elastomer material and is generally cylindrical in shape, with a sealing ring (5) close to each end. Each sealing ring is thicker than the remainder of the sleeve and is designed to be compressed between the joint components. The sleeve is made with an inner (10) and an outer groove adjacent to each of the sealing rings which receive the material of the rings when they are compressed. Each groove diverges towards its open edge, having one wall, opposite the seal ring, which is inclined relative to a plane perpendicular to the sleeve's surface. |
