The device has a vacuum-tight rhomboid shaped housing in which the thermoplastic is melted, injected and cooled whilst under vacuum conditions. Within the housing, the vessel (3) is held tight by a screw (4) which is operated from outside the body. The thermoplastic is introduced through an opening (10) into the heating chamber (6). A piston (7a) which moves inside the heating chamber is connected at its lower end to the pistons of two pumps (9). Connections (11) are provided for cooling fluid if required. The plastic is injected under a pressure of 2-3 Bar.
