Support strap

A support strap for a sports racket handle which is attachable to or forms part of the handle of the racket so as to extend along the handle from a first attachment position at or adjacent the end remote from the racket head towards a second attachment position nearer the racket head, whereby in use a player's hand can be inserted between the support strap and the handle such that the palm of the hand is in contact with the racket handle and the back of the hand is in contact with the support strap which is sufficiently elastic to press against the back of the player's hand to hold the player's hand against the racket handle. A slit 9 can be incorporated to accommodate the knuckles. The support strap is preferably formed from neoprene foam rubber. The strap enhances the user's grip on the handle and absorbs jarring vibrations caused by the racket striking the ball.
