PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a composition for oral cavity effective in restoration of unevennesses on tooth surfaces, prevention of dental caries, strengthening of the dentin, beautifying and whitening, etc., of the tooth by blending a hydroxyapatite fine powder with a solution of a water-soluble cellulose. SOLUTION: This composition for oral cavity is prepared by blending a hydroxyapatite fine powder which is a spherical fine powder having <=50μm average particle diameter with a solution of a water-soluble cellulose such as hydroxypropyl cellulose. The amount of the blended ingredients are 0.1-50wt.% hydroxyapatite and 2-20wt.% water-soluble cellulose. The composition for the oral cavity is excellent in coating properties for the tooth surface and capable of making the hydroxyapatite fine powder stay on the tooth surface for a long time and further manifesting adsorptivity for proteins, suppressing actions on the formation of dental plaques, promoting effects, etc., on the recalcification of the enamel surface to the maximum.
