FIELD: drilling equipment. SUBSTANCE: this relates to self-propelled drilling machines at drilling non-deep vertical bore-holes in mining, construction and other industries. According to method, drill is initially placed in working position by means of hydraulic manipulator, then it is brought to work face and removed from bore-hole on completion of drilling operation. At placing drill to working position, lifting section of hydraulic manipulator boom is located at angle beta above horizon with orientation of outreach section and telescopic section of boom in vertical. In initial period of drilling bore-hole, working feed of drill is performed by lowering of lifting section of manipulator boom from its upper position downwards to double value of aforesaid angle beta by its corresponding turning in vertical plane. Maximal value of angle beta is determined by formula <EMI ID=0.349 HE=12 WI=51 TI=CHI>, where L - distance from suspension point of outreach section of hydraulic manipulator boom to lower end of drill, m; gamma<SB>p</SB> - angle of bore-hole deviation from vertical as permitted by standard documents, rad; R - radius of turning of suspension point of boom outreach section which is numerically equal to length of lifting section of hydraulic manipulator boom, m. After turning boom section to angle 22beta, boom turning is discontinued, and further feeding is performed by extending telescopic section of boom by means of hydraulic manipulator to full length of telescope mechanism.
