The grill rods which are spaced out between frame elements are formed alternately by first (10) and second rods (42) each having channels (32,62) facing away at the sides so that the facing channels of adjoining rods are spaced from each other vertically and overlap to catch the fat. The first grill rods are placed between first frame elements (14) and the second rods (42) between second frame elements (44) whereby the distance between adjoining first rods is the same size as the distance between adjoining second rods and each second rod is set centrally between adjoining first rods.
