The device has a shaft (42) attached to the compartment (10) and projecting outwards, and a holder (26) connected to the drawer (16), which has a slide guide rail. A slide (72) is slidably received in the guide rail of the holder and can slide between stopped and released positions. The slide also has an opening (78) through which the shaft extends when the drawer is in the closed position and the slider is in the stopped position. A locking element (50) is releasably connected to the shaft, whereby the locking element is rigidly attached to the shaft located in the opening of the slider. A plate (28) is connected to a first end of the shaft, which extends into the compartment and attaches to it.
