PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly efficient power supply for image forming system in both aspects of operation control and cost. SOLUTION: The DC power supply 1 comprises a diode bridge DB for rectifying AC input 11, a choke coil L, a switching element FET, a flywheel diode D, and a smoothing capacitor C being arranged to comprise a general booster chopper type active filter. In such an arrangement, the active filter is controlled digitally at the control section of an image forming system body. This arrangement reduces the load to be applied to the controller as compared with arrangement employing a DC-DC converter 12. Furthermore, the cost of control IC is reduced as compared with that of a DC-DC converter 12. |
