The charging system includes a rainfall information acquiring unit and a controller (15). The rainfall information acquiring unit is configured to acquire rainfall information that is information indicating whether it is raining. The controller is configured to control a charging mode of the in-vehicle battery with the external charging device. Furthermore, the controller is configured to inhibit performing of the quick charging or to reduce an amount of charging current in the quick charging based on the rainfall information, which indicates that it is raining, acquired by the rainfall information acquiring unit.
