PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Chinese document preparing device and a method capable of properly retrieving a similar pin sound when a user requires and having a high use convenience. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a normal pin sound dictionary 9 for storing correspondence between a pin sound and a 1st KANJI(Chinese character) group having the pin sound as a normal sound and a similar pin sound dictionary 10 for storing correspondence between a pin sound and a sound similar to the pin sound. When a converting operation for an input pin sound string to which a specific symbol such as '?' is annexed is executed, a KANJI group having the pin as a normal sound is retrieved from the dictionary 9, a KANJI group having a sound similar to the pin sound is retrieved from the dictionary 10 and these retrieved results are displayed on a screen as conversion candidates. |
