PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electricity storing device which can effectively prevent the back charging of a certain electricity storing capacitor from another electricity storing capacitor connected in series with the capacitor and the occurrence of a power loss following the reverse charging. SOLUTION: An electricity storing device is provided with a plurality of electricity storing capacitors C1-Cn connected in series, switches S1-Sn composed of semiconductor switching elements, etc., respectively connected between the terminals of the capacitors C1-Cn, and a monitoring and control circuit Sc which monitors the terminal voltages of the capacitors C1-Cn and, when the terminal voltage of one of the monitored capacitors C1-Cn becomes lower than a prescribed value, a by-pass electrical path is formed for the capacitor by turning the corresponding one of the switches S1-Sn on. |
