The high capacitive cutting current construction method has a fixed inner tube (7) with a surrounding outer cylindrical section (8). A forward probe (3a) makes and breaks the circuit. As the circuit is broken, a piston (11) in the outer chamber moves forward. The piston pushes gas through holes (4) in the inner tube, increasing gas pressure at the circuit breaking interface. The piston continues to move forward to a forward wall (9) in the outer chamber.
