A fitting (10) for use with corrugated steel tubing (20). The fitting (10) includes a body (12) having a locating sleeve (18). The locating sleeve (18) aligns the central axis of the body (12) with the central axis of the tubing (20). Split ring washers (16) are retained on the tubing (20) by a nut (14) which is tightened on a threaded end of the body (12). As the nut (14) is tightened, a taper formed on the body (12) flares the tubing (20). The flared tubing (22) is compressed between the taper (122) on the body (12) and the beveled section (162) of the split ring washer (16). This forms a leak proof fitting without the need for separate flaring tools. |
