PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disc apparatus which can use a plurality of recording media at a low cost. SOLUTION: An optical disc apparatus comprises a first drive means 1 for driving recording media 2, 2' to rotate, an optical pickup 3 for focusing the laser beam with an objective lens 6 via a coupling lens 5, radiating the recording surface of recording media 2, 2' with the laser beam and executing any one of reading or writing operation to the recording media 2, 2' and a second drive means for driving the optical pickup 3 in the direction crossing the track of the recording media 2, 2'. In this case, a coupling lens drive mechanism 7 is provided to drive the coupling lens 5 of the optical pickup 3 in the direction of optical axis and the position of the coupling leans 5 is switched depending on the thickness of transparent substrates 2a, 2a' provided between the objective lens 6 and recording surfaces 2b, 2b' of the recording media 2, 2'. |
