Up-flow especially sand cleaning assembly installed in vehicle chassis

An assembly separates heavy and light foreign bodies or materials from a bulk solid esp. sand using an up-flow sorting unit. The sorting unit consists of a vessel (20) with an inner chamber (19) whose base (22) has numerous water inlets to create a fluidised layer. An extractor (27) removes the lighter foreign bodies. A charge unit (9') replenishes the chamber as required. A first conveyer (25) extracts the treated heavier foreign bodies. An additional treatment stage (5, 6) pre-treats the bulk solids and foreign bodies before they are surrendered to the up-flow sorter (10). The novelty is that: (a) the sorting assembly is constructed as a mobile facility on a vehicle chassis (1); (b) the assembly incorporates a distributor (4) by means of which the product esp. sand is discharged direct to a buffer holder, or to a sand trap (8) which then charges the up-flow sorting unit (10), or a further treatment stage; (c) towards its base the up-flow sorting unit (10) cross-section deviates from a circular shape; (d) the chamber (19) is charged near the base, and the heavier foreign bodies are removed from the same zone near the base.
